The brief

Buying sanitary ware & faucets from China: what matters.

US rules

  • Plumbing fixtures sold in the US usually need a plumbing-code listing (UPC/IAPMO or CSA).
  • Faucets for drinking water must meet lead-free requirements (NSF/ANSI 61 and 372).

Commonly required. We confirm what applies to your project before production.

Duties

  • Drawn stainless steel sinks from China are under anti-dumping and countervailing duty orders.
  • Bathroom vanities fall under the wooden cabinets and vanities anti-dumping order plus Section 232, so we don't recommend them from China.
  • Metal content can bring the Section 232 metals tariff. We check every item before we quote.

Mechanisms only. Rates change; we check them at quote time.

Our QC checks

  • Glaze and surface
  • Dimensions and fit
  • Flush and flow test
  • Listing marks and documents
  • Packing for breakables

Checked against your approved sample, at the factory, before shipping.

Can you supply vanities too?

We can, but anti-dumping duties plus Section 232 usually make Chinese vanities uneconomic. We'll show you the numbers.
