What is CBM?
Cubic meters: length × width × height of each carton in meters, times the number of cartons. Freight forwarders price LCL shipments by CBM.
When is a full container cheaper than LCL?
As a rule of thumb, from around 13–15 m³ a full 20' container is often cheaper than paying per cubic meter for LCL. The exact point depends on current rates.
What is chargeable weight?
For air freight, the higher of the actual weight and the volumetric weight (here 1 m³ = 166.67 kg, the common 1:6000 factor).
