What is DAP (Delivered at Place)?
An Incoterms rule where the seller delivers goods to a named destination ready for unloading, but the buyer clears import customs and pays the duties.
Under DAP, the seller bears costs and risk until the goods arrive at the named place, such as the buyer's warehouse, ready for unloading. Import clearance, duties, taxes and customs fees stay with the buyer.
DAP suits buyers who want door delivery but prefer to control customs themselves, for example because they already have a customs broker and a continuous bond. It also means a shipment can sit at the port, with charges running, if the buyer's ISF or entry is not ready.
The real difference from DDP is who acts as importer of record and pays the duties. Beato's services can be used separately, so you can take delivery with your own broker clearing customs.
