What is DDP (Delivered Duty Paid)?

An Incoterms rule where the seller delivers to the buyer's door with import duties, taxes and customs clearance paid, ready for unloading.

DDP puts the maximum obligation on the seller. The seller arranges export clearance, freight, import customs clearance and delivery to the named place, and pays import duties and taxes. The buyer's job is to unload the goods at the destination.

For a business buying from China, DDP turns a shipment with many parties into one delivered price. The key question is who acts as importer of record in the US, because that party is legally responsible to CBP for correct classification, value and duty payment. A DDP offer from a seller with no US presence deserves careful questions about who files the entry.

Beato ships DDP door to door. Customs is cleared through a partner customs broker, and Beato can act as importer of record or work with your own broker. Beato's price lock covers factory, freight and exchange-rate changes; government tariff and duty changes and changes you request are not covered.
