What is Freight forwarder?
A company that organizes international shipments for cargo owners, booking carriers and coordinating pickup, documents, customs and delivery.
A freight forwarder arranges the movement of goods for the shipper or buyer. It books space with shipping lines or airlines, collects cargo, prepares or coordinates shipping documents and works with customs brokers at both ends. Some forwarders also issue their own house bills of lading as a non-vessel-operating common carrier (NVOCC).
Who appoints the forwarder matters. If the Chinese supplier picks it, as under CIF or seller-arranged DDP, you see less of the cost at destination. If you nominate your own forwarder under FOB, you control the booking and the destination charges.
Beato's freight is handled by its sister company, American Global Freights.
