What is MOQ (Minimum order quantity)?

The smallest quantity a factory will produce or sell in one order, often set per item, color or material because of setup and raw material costs.

Suppliers set an MOQ to cover setup costs: machine changeovers, molds, materials bought in minimum lots, printing plates or dye batches. It can apply per order, per item, per color or per material, and the unit price usually falls as quantity rises.

MOQs are often negotiable, especially for a first order or when the buyer accepts a higher unit price, standard colors or existing materials. A trading company may offer lower MOQs by grouping orders, but you lose direct contact with the factory.

Beato's own minimum order is 1 pallet, separate from any factory MOQ. Smaller first production runs are possible for startups launching their own product.
