What is Landed cost?
The total cost of getting a product to your door: factory price plus freight, insurance, duties, customs fees and delivery, usually worked out per unit.
Landed cost adds every cost between the factory and your door to the product price: trucking and export charges in China, ocean or air freight, cargo insurance, US duties (including any Section 301, Section 232 or AD/CVD duties), customs fees such as MPF and HMF, broker fees, port and terminal charges, and final delivery.
Comparing a Chinese FOB price with a US distributor's price only makes sense on a landed basis. Duties can change the answer, because the rate depends on the HTS code and country of origin, and additional duties can apply on top of the normal rate.
Beato checks antidumping duties before every quote. Its price lock covers factory, freight and exchange-rate changes once a price is committed; government tariff and duty changes and changes you request are not covered.
