What is Factory audit?

A factory audit checks that the supplier is who it claims to be and can make your product to standard. It typically covers the business license and ownership, whether the site is a real factory or a trading company, equipment and capacity, quality control, export experience and, where required, social compliance such as working hours and safety.

An audit is cheap insurance at the start of a relationship. It reduces the risk of fraud, of the order being subcontracted to an unknown workshop, and of forced-labor or origin problems that could get goods detained in the US.
