What is UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed marking)?
The UK's product conformity mark for Great Britain, introduced after Brexit; for many product types the EU's CE mark is still accepted there as well.
UKCA marking applies to goods placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) under UK product safety rules that mirror those behind CE marking. The manufacturer follows the UK conformity process, keeps technical documentation and signs a UK declaration of conformity. Northern Ireland follows EU rules and uses CE marking.
The UK government has extended recognition of CE marking in Great Britain indefinitely for many product types, so most businesses can use CE, UKCA or both. Some sectors, such as medical devices and construction products, have their own rules and timelines.
Check which marking your UK customer expects before production, since the manufacturer prepares the mark and documents. For UK shipments, Beato works with a local customs agent and delivery and installation partners.
